Was John R. and/or Wiley Bright from North Carolina? That is the area in which I am focusing my research, so this is critical information.
I have at least one John R. Brite (same family, but originally "Bright" the common English surname.) in my ancestry. One was my great-great grandfather, who died in 1845 in Camden County. There also have been others, I believe.I am trying to find out who his parents and wife were. These Brights lived in North Carolina for generations. The first one came in 1696 from Virginia, and I think it's safe to say that nearly all of the early North Carolina Brights/Brites migrated there from VA.
