Bonnie, so far I haven't been able to make a connection with the Bright surname. It's a small clue I was following in search of my ggrandma Margaret Ann McClendon b. 3 Sep 1827 MS. A Bright McClendon b. MS abt 1835 went to Sabine Par.LA with her and her husband, Thos.A.Baldridge, and were on the 1850 census there. I don't know the McClendon relationship or their parents, but Margaret named her 1st son "John Bright Baldridge". Another Bright McLendon m. Nancy Trussell in Carroll Co.MS 30 Dec 1844. I don't know who they are, but there must have been a BRIGHT surname in the family at some point. To further confuse things, also married in Carroll Co.MS 28 Dec 1843 was a Francis Baldridge b.TN abt 1817 to a Martha A.E.J. McClendon b.TN abt 1817 They also went to LA with the others. Some of these surnames were in NC,AL,TN,MS. Thos.and Margaret went to TX in the mid-1860's. Sorry I'm no help.
