According to marriage records for his 3rd marriage (to Catherine Frank in 1883), Alexander's parents WERE Isaac Brighton and Elizabeth Craig. He had a total of 4 children: John I. and Nellie (Melissa E.) by first wife Sarah Huffman. John and his mother died within a few days of each other in 1863 when he was only 4. Then he had Mark M., and George W. by second wife, Caroline Rizley. George W. also seems to have died at a young age, before 1880 census probably. Mark M. seems to have married Lila C. Waters.
