My son just recently became engaged to a Brightwell descendant. I have started talking with her unlce only a short time ago who has been working on their ancestry.
I have only received bits and pieces so far from him but some of what he has shared is that their line is from an Absalom Brightwell b. 1770 in Orange Co. Va. and d. 7/20/1833 in Spotsylvania Co. Virginia.
Would you happen to have Absalom in your files and could you share his ancestry. I am wanting to add the Brightwells to the Ancestry Book I have been making for my descendants after I may die.
I was first married to a Boone of whom I have been researching the ancestry on his people for several years now; trying to find whether he actually decends from Daniel Boone or one of his relatives as family lore was past down. However DNA testing my son participated in a couple years ago showed he may not be of Daniel's family. But I only got the first 12 markers tested and there are 25 more markers I need to get tested which could prove otherwise.
When my son became engaged and I found her mother was a Brightwell I of course looked in my FTM file for the surname and did find some. In fact, I found a connection between Daniel Boone's family and some Brightwells that were of Spotsylvania Co. Va.
Please keep in mind that much of my file info has come from other individuals and accuracy could be unsure as I have not documented alot of it. If you can make any corrections to my info I will be greatful. Please keep in mind I have added only a brief bit for space sake!
