Just read your e-mail of Sept. 04,2006, in reply to Virginia Jordan
Andrew Jackson Brightwell was a resident of Harrison County Texas and is buried there. Marshall, TX is the county seat of Harrison County. This person is supposedly related to the Brightwell's of Clarke County Georgia, Clarke Co.having been formed circa 1846 from the old Franklin County. This is the location of my Samuel Brightwell who lived and died circa 1840-1845, and is beleived to have been buried in a private family cemetery on his proerty holdings near Athens, Clarke, GA
His wife was Francis Berry, whom he married in 1809 in Oglethorpe Co.Francis was the daughter of William Berry and Susannah Taylor who resided in Newton County GA.Francis and Samuel moved to Jackson Co., and eventually settled in Athens where Samuel became a merchant.Francis lived with a daughter, Martha, who resided in Walton Co.Francis died and in buried inn Walton Co. according to my infromation.
