Dear Lucille, I searched my notes. Found no references for Cole or Coley. Found three entries however for William (None lsited as Billy)
William BrigmanSC 26th Regiment Co. D Killed at Petersburg. Source for this info http://www.researchonline.net/sccw/rosters/26thinfd.htm(Ithttp://www.researchonline.net/sccw/rosters/26thinfd.htm(It is my educated theory that this is the son of John Washington Strong Brigman, brother of Henry Allen Brigman who was in this company, possibly husband of Mary Jane Grant Brigman by comparison to earlier Marlboro Co. Census records. However I stress this is at present not firmly documented. Eli Brigman Killed at Petersburg also is also documented as son of John Washington Strong Brigman in earlier Marlboro Co. SC Census Records.)
This Company was primarily Marlboro Co. SC residents.
Butlers Brigade also sserved Marlboro and Marion Co. SC to a large degree
William Brigman SC 4th Cavalry Regiemnt Co. E. Listed in a History of Marlboro Co.by J.A. Thomas, pub, 1897 by Foote and Davis, Atlanta, Ga. as killed at home 1864. Hope this might prove helpful.Elaine
