I'm glad you found the article and letter interesting.It is a fabulous story.
I am not a direct decscendant of Joshua. He is my third counsin three times removed. I research all Brigmans in the South and those who moved to other states.I have 2000 Brigmans ONLY in a single tree showing the relationships to each other.
Thanks for the tip on TX Death Certs.I am also familiar with them and they are nice to have (even for free!).
I'm compiling a book that contains 30 years of research on the Brigmans but it will be a couple of years before its complete.The book covers the period from 1550 to about 1900/1910.
Joshua's story is an interesting one but Joshua's brothers were also colorful and identified as cattle rustlers and were quite notorious for a while.
