Somebody sent me a copy of a will for William Payne who died in 1776 in Dorchester, MD that lists a Margaret Briley as a daughter. William is not directly related to me, but I have a guess as to his origins.
In checking Maryland records I found the following abstract of the will:

To sons: John and Samuel Payne, all my lands equally
To son Daniel Payne, 1 Shilling

To Heirs of my Da Mary Lowe, deceased, 1 shilling
To William Sulivane, who married my da Bridget, 1 shilling
To das and sons: Margaret Briley, William Payne, Charles Payne, Joseph Payne, Rhody Payne, 1 shilling each
To da Mary Payne, Furniture.
