Brinckerhoff-Conklin - Duryee Owasco, NY
Again my thanks and my thanks for offering further assistance on the larger Brinckerhoff family.
I would like to take you up on that offer with several queries, over time, to help document and supplement my work on the Duryea/Duryee family (there are a number of connections, as you will have noticed from your Brinckerhoff perspective).
In this post, I would like to ask you about one such connection.
Below is an entry from my Duryea draft outline which mentions the 2nd wife of David Duryee, Sarah E. Brinckerhoff:
"David B. Duryee, born 1838, buried 4 May 1926, aged 87 [burial records Owasco Rural Cemetery Association], married (1) Mary J. Robinson, born 1837, died 17 November 1871 [obituary Moravia Valley Register, dated 24 November 1871], buried with her husband, married second, in Owasco, on 10 October 1872 [Moravia Valley Register, dated 18 October 1872] Sarah E. Brinkerhoff, born 1840, buried at the Owasco Rural cemetery on 9 March 1917, aged 76; possibly the daughter of William Brinkerhoff (1812-1863) and Caroline Conklin (1814-1874), who are also buried here. In the 1880 Federal Census for Owasco, David, under the spelling Duryea, is listed as a farmer, aged 41, or born circa 1839, with wife "E. Sarah, aged 39, or born circa 1841.There is no evidence that David B. Duryee had any children by either wife."
I would be grateful to learn from your studies whether this Sarah E. Brinckerhoff is, indeed, the daughter of William Brinckerhoff and Caroline Conklin, or if I have may an erroneous assumption?
I would also be grateful to learn whether, in fact, Sarah had no children by Duryee?
