Sharon,
Yes, the 1850 Jackson County, Indiana Census shows the following:
Morgan BRINKER, 28, M, Farmer, KY, Can not read/write
Ruanna BRINKER, 26, F, IN
Mary M. BRINKER, 6, F, IN, Attended school
James M. BRINKER, 7, M, IN
Francis A. BRINKER, 8, F, IN
Lidia A. BRINKER, 9, F, IN
What I was referring to is Ancestry.com online image 6/33 pulls Morgan up as Margare BRINKER, however, the actual reading of the census clearly shows Morgan BRINKER.
As to Francis A. BRINKER, if you follow the 6, 7, 8, 9 pattern, it would appear Francis is 8 years old. However, in reading the actual census sheet from Ancestry.com Online Image 6/33, the 8 could easliy be a 2 or 3.At least to my eyes.
I have yet to locate any documentation on Francis for clarification of her actual age.Interruptation of course is everything.Just as the census takers interruptated the spelling of a name, we as researchers, also interrupt what we think we see. That is why I was asking.
Thank you so very much for your input.Your opinion has always carried alot of weight with me.
