Stephen Brinkley Granville Co NC

Hello, Stephen Brinkley, Sr of Granville Co was my 3rd GGF.I have determined that he was still in Granville Co in Aug 1796 through court minutes as a jury member.At some point, he moved to Rowan Co with his mother, Francis, and brother, Richard.That part of Rowan to which they moved is now Davidson County.I am trying to connect Stephen Sr to the earlier Brinkley lines from eastern VA/NC, but seem to be missing a vital link.Does anyone have Stephen or Richard in their research?I have not been able to determine who Stephen and Richard's father was.Many thanks!
