I wonder if Alsey Chaney, born about 1800 in Virginia (1850 census) could be a daughter of John Chaney. She married Jeremiah Price, son of Thomas and Rutha Price in Pulaski County, KY 17 November 1820.A probate packet from Owen County, Indiana dated January 1, 1841 leads me to believe that Jeremiah died and Alsey remarried--Henry Pirtle Monroe County, Indiana March 3, 1833.In this probate record Alsay Pirtle releases interest in the estate of John P. Price (I believe this is her son) to her daughters Nancy Pirtle, Cynthia Mayfield, and Lavina Price. She also mentions Thomas Price, son, deceased in the Battle of Buena Vista (Mexican War).A Thomas Price relinquishes position as executor which is witnessed by Shadrach Price, Thomas Stephens, and William Green Stephens (all relatives of Jeremiah Price).
I know that these families knew each other for several reasons.
1) Land transaction between Thomas Price and Amos Chaney, 1826.
2) Amos Chaney married Temperance Brinson, sister to John Brinson who married Rachel Price.
3) Stephens, Brinson, Price families left Pulaski County around 1830 and went to Monroe County and Decatur County, then Shelby and Owen Counties, Indiana.
The more I research the Pulaski County Kentucy families, the more I find connections between those residing there circa 1800.
