Please excuse my tardiness- I was out of town for a couple of weeks.Thank you for the info.I'm afraid that I can't add too much to it, I just started on this line. There's not a lot of MS., AR., & LA. info up where I live.
I need to go back and check my census info. (Ashley County, Mill Creek Twp., Image 60, Roll M432-25, Page 31).Maybe the 1850 Arkansas census for Harriet should be 32 instead of 22.At least that would make Harriet Eliza Jane's natural mother.
Eliza Jane first married a Thomas Armstrong.I found Ashley Co., AR Federal Land Records for Sidney for 80 acres on 5/3/1858, for 40 acres on 7/1/1859, 80 acres on 7/1/1859, and 120 acres on 9/1/1860.In the same search, I found 40 acres on 4/2/1860 for a Thomas Armstrong in the same county.
That's all the info I have on the Thomas Armstrong segment, except for the fact that they had a child, Tom Armstrong.
By 1870, Eliza is living in Caldwell Parish, LA. with her second husband, John C. McDaniel.

I found the burial infomation on this family posted on Rootsweb CNIDR posted by Nancy Galkowski.
This is headstone info:
Tom Armstrong, son of Tom & Eliza Brinson Armstrong
Eliza J. McDaniel wife of John C. McDaniel Died June 28, 1902, Age 63 years
John C. McDaniel, Died July 14, 1899, Age 84 years.

Arch McDaniel, Sept. 24, 1873 - Mar 4, 1962
Ira McDaniel, June 26, 1870 - Oct. 3, 1950
I also found a J.H. Brinson, PVT., Co. K 12th La. Infty. En. Camp Moore, La., Aug. 13th, 1861, Discharged 21st Sept. 1861.I don't know if this is Sydney's son James or not.
Eliza's second husband John C. McDaniel, served in Captain Everet's Command.
My line came through the daughter Mary Jane McDaniel, born Feb. 21, 1866 in LA.She married Zechariah Taylor Wilks and lived in Catahoula Parish, LA.Zechariah was born Oct. 16, 1859 and died on July 3, 1919.Mary Jane died on 12/11/1955.She was buried in Heard Cemetery in Catahoula Parish, but a relative told me that the McDaniel family had her moved to the McDaniel Cemetery. So far, I can not find any proof of this. There's still her double headstone at Heard Cemetery, and no headstone for her at McDaniel Cemetery.
There's been a couple of articles written about Mary Jane McDaniel Wilks. Her husband was shot and killed by a Mr. Fairbanks over a land dispute.Every day, Mr. Fairbanks' father would drive by her house in his buggy and tip his hat to her. After a while, she tired of this, and shot him.
Didn't kill him though.
Now back to the Brinson family.
Found where the estate of Gause Brinson was dated in 1825 and listed in Book B, page 20 in Claiborne Co. Records.Lewis William's info was in book W on page 7.With all the info you have, I'm sure you have copies of these already.
Claiborne Co., MS. Death Register shows Gause? Brinson dying in 1823. Then it shows the date of his will as 25 May, 1833 on page 140.
Then I found where Peter Buchan married Sarah Sanders on 26 Feb. 1824.(Also found his name listed as Buchanan).
I'll keep looking here for anything else I can find.So far, this is it.
