Hi Carol:I'm intersted in the possible connection of my Francis Blackwell of Hopewell Township, Hunterdon Co., NJ to Stout Brinson of the same family as Zebulon.Francis and his family left Hopewell Township in 1791, and they were in Shelby County, KY by 1800.I don't know if they might have been in Virginia first or not.Francis purchased some land in Allen County, Kentucky which he sold to his three sons as well as Stout Brinson. The Blackwells left there, but Stout Brinson had descendants there for at least two more generations and there is a Brinson cemetery in Allen Co.
Francis Blackwell married a second time, wife's name unknown. He was in Kaskaskia, Ill. in 1813, and died in 1819.His sons by the second marriage - William and James moved to Brown Township, Ripley Co., IN where James' family remained.William's family moved on to Ray Co., MO.As you know there were many Brinsons in Ripley Co., including at least one Stout Brinson.
I'm trying to determine whether a daughter of Francis Blackwell married a Stout Brinson, and/or whether Francis second wife, who was born in Virgina could have been a Brinson.
Any thoughts?
Best wishes,
David Blackwell
