Yes, you are right, it was Richard Broadstreet that was my gg-grandfather (James was his brother).I have found the children you listed in the book Yalobusha Bound by Chris Morgan. However, it does not list my great-grandmother as one of the children (Annie Elizabeth 1864-1928).I have a copy of her death certificate which simply lists her parents as being from Texas. Also, I have a copy of a page from the Alabama Blue Book and Social Register 1929 about her husband, Jessie Lee McLane. In the article it says:
"Married Ann Broadstreet, the daughter of James Richard and Jane (Stevenson) Broadstreet, the former of Texas and the latter of Mississippi.Mrs. McLane was born in Texas. She was educated in the Synodical Female College, Talladega, Alabama."
As I mentioned in my original post, Annie was recorded in the 1880 Census of Talladega, Alabama in the household of her aunt and uncle.I am wondering what happened to her parents.
If you learn any more about this family, please let me know. Thanks for your help!
