Just to say I've emailed you directly off forum - really interested in this line as descending from a family heavily involved in the Lead Mining community of Wirksworth in Derbyshire this is the first I've found that emigrated as a miner - its always seemed odd to me that none were attracted by the gold rush with expertise! Although recently I've begun to realise that they actually had quite a high standing in the community and it would have been a one way trip in all probability!
