First Brookshire in North Carolina

From Anson County, NC, Deed Abstracts 1749-1766, there is the statement that William Brookshire witnessed the deed transacting land from Edward Hughes to Nicholas Harford on January 5, 1753.Does anyone know of an earlier mention of the Brookshire family in North Carolina?
