Peter, your Mary Elizabeth Brossart WAS born in Buechelberg, Alsace. Her husband Joseph Gloessinger was the brother of my great-great grandfather Matheus Gloessinger.
There were two Mary Elizabeth Brossarts born in Buechelberg in 1804...the father of one of them was Michael, and I would imagine that this was the correct Mary Elisabeth, since she named her only son Michael.. A German friend of mine is going to get a copy of the marriage document for me, to clarify that point. He said that before WWII, "someone started to do something like a family list", and had "chosen the Maria Elisabetha born 30 Dec 1804 [dau. of Joannis Brosart (sic) and Anna Eva Franck],for the marriage with Joseph Gläsinger." I believe, based on the father's name, that she should be the one born 09 NOV 1804. Her parents,on her RC baptismal record, were Michaelis Brosart (sic) and Rosaliae Blanarch. Joseph took Elisabetha a short distance north to Freckenfeld Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, where Joseph had been born. Their children were born there, and their daughter was baptized at the Katholische Kirche in the next town of Minfeld.
They are listed on the manifest dated July 5, 1839, on the ship "Baltimore".
