Eleanor M Brown b. LA m. Joseph C Herndon b. 1830

Hello All,

I am stumped and could really use some help.

Eleanor M. Brown was born in Louisiana. She married Joseph Clifton Herndon in Kentucky. They lived in Texas. In 1861 Joseph was a 1st Sergeant in Capt. J. Wharton's 8th Calvary, aka Terry's Texas Rangers.
On the 1880 census for Colorado, Texas Eleanor is listed as Widowed and 35 yrs of age. This would indicate she was born in 1845. She stated both parents were born in Louisiana. Her daughter whom she is living with is listed as 19. That would mean Eleanor gave birth to Lela when she was only 16. Assuming Eleanor was married before the birth the marriage year would be 1859-1860(?). I can find nothing else. If anyone can help please contact me.
