My ancestor is Rebecca Emily Brown who married Hiram Nix (Nicks). She was from Pinewood in Hickman County, TN and I believe a daughter of Spencer Brown.
Hiram and Rebecca Emily were in Perry County in the 1860 census. Rebecca Emily Nix (Nicks) was in Williamson Co., TN in the 1870 Census living next door to Wiley Washington Brown a son of Spencer Brown. You can find them in Dist. #5.
Wiley W. Brown is living beside Spencer Brown in the 1860 census in Hickman County, TN.
Tennessee Virginia Nix a daughter married George Martin Stovall and Rebecca Emily Nix can be found living with them in the census records after 1870.
I have just started researching the Brown line. Spencer Brown was in Dickson County in 1820. I have a copy of the Account of Sales of the Estate of Rosser Brown. Do you know who he was?
Besides Spencer Brown there is a Rachel Brown who bought a lot of the household property, John B. Brown and the Admr. was William S.(?) Brown.
I have looked at some of the deeds in the Dickson Co., TN books and only remember a Benjamin Brown. I need to look at my notes maybe you know of a connection? Spencer Brown was a witness.
Are you familiar with any of these Brown's?
Rebecca Emily Brown was related to Hood's, Fitts and Freeman's. Her girls married into these families. Her children were Tennessee who married George Martin Stovall, Amanda who married James Lynn, Mary who I believe married a Hood and Armenta who married one of the Fitts (Fitz) either John Houston Fitts or Felix Grundy Fitts I get them mixed up one is the father of the other.
A son John L. Nix married one of the Beasley's.
I have some info from one of the Hickman County books and the cemetery record books in Hickman County but you probably have this same info.
