Josiah Brown - Published in 1925

By Dorothy Tapping June 06, 2006 at 01:59:13

This is my first time posting and hope I can explain what is needed. When my maternal grandmother passed in 1973 my mom ended up with a booklet that was published in NJ. It called "Decendants of Josiah Brown" on the inside of the book it says "True Line of Brown Family Back to 1376".I have found a lot of info in it, but some of the beginning of the booklet starts in England and I don't know where to start. Here is the first 11 generations

1st gen - General John Browne of the Borough of Stamford County, Lincoln, England.

2nd - 4th gen - all are General John Browne of Stamford

5th and 6th gen - are General Christopher Browne of Stamford

7th gen - General Christopher Browne of Swan Hall

8th gen - General Thomas Browne of Swan Hall

9th and 10th gen - General John Browne of Hawkedon, England

11th gen - General John Browne of Hawkedon, England
This generation came to the US with his parents John and Dorothy, the took the Ship Lion to New England in 1632.

Now my question is how do I find out when they were born, married, death. Most of the book gave me enough info at a starting point.

Also how can I find the if there was another book printed. The name of the company is Scheller Bookworm Doctor,Newark, NJ

Any help would be appreciated.
