George & Thomas HUTCHINSON arr. 1630 MA Bay Colony
Hello.I've been researching my HUTCHINSON ancestors for a long time. But I have concentrated on the families which lived on the long-standing HUTCHINSON Farm in Winchester, MA.Some of the people in the late 1800's had already done some research.*These families are descended from George HUTCHINSON who reportedly arrived in the MA Bay Colony in 1630 with "the Winthrop Fleet."His wife, Margaret (?), was with him. They had a son shortly after arriving;he was Nathaniel HUTCHINSON.
There was a Thomas HUTCHINSON on the ship with George and it is assumed they were brothers.Thomas died either on the ship or within days after arriving. He was traveling with his wife, Ann (BROWNE?), and their 5 children.
Researchers disagree, but it is said that about a year later the widow, Mrs. Ann HUTCHINSON remarried to Adam HAWKES, and they had children. There is information on this family and George's family in the archives of the HUTCHINSON Boards and Lists, and the MA Lists.
The reason I'm writing now is that I was just looking through the old postings for another researcher, and found an old posting which said that both wives had the surname, BROWN/E.But I don't see any mention of the 2 wives being sisters or cousins or somehow related.
I was wondering if anyone on this Board had opinions on this.

* I lived on the HUTCHINSON Farm from Age 2 to 9, so I have an extra interest in the family. My gr-gr-grandmother was Adelaide Crosby HUTCHINSON, born 1850's on the Farm.
