Gray, Brown(e) and Gill Families of Fauquier County Virginia

In our frusrating search to determine the parents of Jesse Gray, b. 1795-1800 and Rody (Rhody) Brown(e) b. abt. 1800- 1803, we have been unable to. I have found, however, that the process of elimination can be useful.

Can anyone tell me more about the following families found in the 1810 census of Fauquier County Virginia families?

Gray, Mary (Whose widow is Mary?)

I have not been able to find anything at all about connect Benedicter Gray or to the others and I have to assume that Mary was a widow, but whose? Where did Thomas come from and whose son was he? Thomas is found isolated on Humston's list, in northwest Fauquier, closer to Culpeper. Could he be a son of William Gray of Culpeper? Could he be related to Jesse?

In that same census, I find the following Brown Families, who may be descendants of the Brown families of Culpeper, any of whom may have been the family of Rody:

Also of interest is Charles E. Browne, the Methodist Minister that married Jesse Gray and Rhody Brown 23 Mar 1818 in Fauquier Co, VA. I haven't been able to find him other than on the list Jim Burgess posted in 1999 of Early Ministers of Fauquier Co, VA.

Jesse and Rhody's oldest sons, William H Gray and James Gray (my branch), married Maria Gill and Eliza Jane Gill (my branch), sisters and daughters of James Gill, a son of John Gill of Prince William Co, VA.

I've exhausted the resources available to me without success. If anyone has any ideas I am very open to suggestions. Thank you.
