Brenda, I ck'd the atlas and found, coincidentally, maybe but, still...my mtdna shows a link to the Fogle/el/Vogal etc name..and Angelo/Rapier etc..more avail.Anyway, since you have the Carter link/dna site..(my results are at www.genetree.com other's can upload their results for matching up, there, also). But, I was trying to find "my" other name links, also...and came across a Fogel/le couple in the 1940's I believe, a news article, reporting that an older couple, the Fogels, were on a road trip, visiting kin near Newport, Ark (Jackson Co)and they'd rolled their car, had to take a train back to Grand Saline, TX (Van Zandt)(now on I-20, directly south of the area, many Carters were in (a Carter got a huge land grant back in the mid 1800's in Fannin Co (which was later divided into smaller counties).Nevertheless...oddly enuff, this Fogel couple were living at point A/Tx and went to visit kin at B/Ark, in counties which I have names that coincide with yours. There were also Carters etal in Pottawatomie Co.,OK, per the 1930 records, +/- were my kin, who link to Brumley, were...with so many kids in the families, it could connect to most any of them, but I'm certain, there's a link, or several, in these. My Carters, in So.Ky, on the Tn line, where there were many boundry/land disputes, Harlen/Knox/Bell/Whitley..London, a bit north..were all the above Carter related names..click on my name to see my (many)posts on Genforum. The fact that your Nora had some differing last names, makes me wonder, too, about a recuring "clue" that mayby plural marraiges, might be something to consider..indians/mormons..both(?) I kid you not...google for Indians with Mormons, they didn't always fight..I have come across Coleman, too, but further back, when "Friends" were the thing, in SW Ohio/NJ..across from Newport, Ky...Mainly, my mtdna seems to point to a Bohemian culture, like the Slovenian refugees, who are still persecuted. Thanks again.
Hoping that others will post &/or email.
