My husband descends from Joshua.I got this info from the home page of Howard R. Page at http://www. familytreemaker. com/index.html: Abraham Brundage b. abt. 1760 in England d. Williston, Vermont."Family legend states that Abraham was a Hessian (German soldier fighting for the British army). Most of my evidence shows more of a British lineage than German. Some have theorized that Abraham may have been a part of a German Battalion but as a British soldier. The surname Brundage is also much more prevalent in England than in Germany.Abraham is said to have deserted the British army, which was not unusual at the time, and some families in the northeast are proud that their ancestors deserted the British cause. Some records show Abraham and Lois as having 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls, however, I have only records of Joshua.Abraham appears in the 1810 Vermont census as living in Williston, Chittenden County, Vermont."
