FANNIE BRUNER was born in Dubuque County, Iowa, September l3, l86l, and departed this life November l, l924, aged 63 years, l month and l9 days, at the home of her sister-in-law, MRS. FRED BRUNER near Wheatland, Wyoming, where she was called a short time before by the sickness and death of her brother.
At five years of age, she moved with her parents to Decatur County. She was united in marriage to JOHN PRIEST March 23, l879; to this union were born l2 children: MRS. LEOTA ALLEN, of Parks, Nebraska; W.E. PRIEST, of Creston, Iowa; MRS. SUSIE RYAN, of Yuma, Colorado; J.L. PRIEST, of Kellerton, Iowa;
MRS. JANIE ALLEN, of Bayard, Iowa; LAURA MAE, who preceded the parents in death at the age of ll months; PEARL in nurses' training at Creston, Iowa; EARL PRIEST, of Shannon City, Iowa; MRS. CLARA LAWSON, of Shannon City, Iowa; BERTIE, teaching at Bayard, Iowa; FANNIE, in college at Chillicothe, Mo., and FLOYD, at home. All of the children were present. Three of the children, SUSIE, PEARL and FLOYD, were at the bedside at the time of her death. Her son, W.E. thinking she was better, started for his home the evening before.
Her husband preceded her in death March l, l924. MRS. PRIEST gave her heart to Christ and was a loving Christian mother and spent much time in the study and meditation of God's word and prayer, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She moved with her family to Union County, Iowa, November 5, l89l, where she has since made her home.
Besides her eleven children, she leaves to mourn her departure, twenty-one grandchildren, four sisters, two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held at the home on the farm near Arispe, Iowa. The services were conducted by Miss Ellen Johnson. The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the Green Lawn Cemetery at Afton, Iowa.
