Bryan/Briant/Bryant Of NC
I have 4 families of Bryant's from NC living in Jackson Co., AL in 1850. Does anyone have any information? I have:
Samuel b. abt. 1782 NC living with Susannah b. 1805 NC, Samuel b. 1832, Josephus b. 1838, & Morgan b. 1840. The 3 children were all b. AL. Now, it seems strange that there's such a gap in ages. I suspect Susannah could be a dau. or 2nd wife. There must be more children.
Lewis b. 1797 NC is living with Lucinda b. 1829 NC, Mary b. 1835 TN, & Clarisa b. 1846 AL.Again, this looks like there's no wife & these are children, but there's the same age gap.
Also living nearby is Wm. Bryant b. 1814 NC. (Lewis' son?) Living with him are: Sarah b. 1814 NC, George b. 1837 NC, Elizabeth b. 1839 NC, Larkin b. 1840 NC, James b. 1844 NC, Harriet b. 1846 NC, Elisha& Lalla- both b. 1849 GA.(?)
Finally, there's my GGgrmom, Jane Bryant b. 1819 TN-living with her brother, Jasper Callaway Bryant b. 1824 TN. Jasper told family that their parents were born in NC.
Can anyone connect any of these people to the NC Bryans-especially the ones who went to TN? And, what's the Callaway connection?
Thanks for any help.
