I am looking for info on EZEKIEL BRYANT found on a land grant between him and BARNWELL BEARD dated 1855, for 59 acres of land located on "LANGE BAY", which I can not find (the name may no longer exist). The archive index does not indicate an exact location. note: The surveyor was J.K. LINDER, Lewis LINDER was a neigbor of B.P. BEARD on the 1860 Census,. CAMPBELLs were also neighbors.
BARNWELL PRESTON BEARD is found on the 1860 Census for St Bartholomew's Parish, Colleton Co, SC. I do not know where he lived prior to this. I did find him on a ship's passenger list traveling to CA in 1852 with Wm Ballard PRESTON, Sec of the Navy under Pres. Taylor (1849-1850).
B.P. BEARD b.c. 1831 SC m. Ann CAMPBELL b.c. 1836 SC.
If I have my facts straight, it looks as though B.P. BEARD traveled to CA in 1852, returned to SC, (may have marriedthen), sold land in 1855, his first child was born in 1855, signed up for service in the Civil War in Beaufort, SC.
Any help will be Greatly Appreciated! ~
