Re: BUCHANAN'S OF LINCOLN CO., TENN.
Andrew Jackson aswell as four other Presidents are in my family lines, sense Andrew was a Davidson - Williamson county boy, and his duel with Erwin and sense my ancestor was given lands in Wmson by Sen Col Robert Irwin I would exspect there maybe some relationship. Irwin/Erwin/Irving/Erving/Irvin are all Irvines and the families ar related, my surname has been intermarring the Irvines of all spellings for well over 1200 years now and we still are. See Scottish history of the Border Clans and Carruthers Scottish History.
I Irwin boys don't have the families of America mapped and traced as of yet, I am tight to the Irvine researchers.
As For Irwin we as still working on Sen.,Col.Robert Irwins line also Robert Erwin b.1710 married Ann Crockett.
Col R. Irwin had two TN grants of 600 arces each one grant in Willaimson the other just North in Davidson. Irwin gave 300 arces of the Williamson Cnty Grant to my ancrster and the other 300 was sold to James Crockett. Irwin's daughter was married to a 2nd cousin of my ancestor Hugh Carothers .
I am aware of the date and place David Buchanan was born . Augusta Va is one of central place of my surname family as well as Lancaster Pa where our Buchanan line left family.

I need make this point - the Irwin's and Erwin's are of the same family lines it appears they have been using both spellings sense they arrived in Pa in the early 1700, and like my own surname depending on where one is in the south depends on the spelling used.
