Y-DNA & Bullards from Northern VA
I recently persuaded a male Bullard cousin to participate in Y-DNA testing at familytreedna.com -- Y-DNA is passed down the male line with little change, so you can identify male line descent. Up until now I had assumed that there were probably just two main lines of US Bullards, the New England families and the Southern ones. But no! We don't have the full results back yet, but we are not matching anyone that has been tested -- for the southern families, just members of the NC and KY families have participated. Since I suspect that my Bullards came from Caroline or Spotsylvania or thereabouts in VA, can I encourage any male Bullard descended from those families in those areas to particpate?
I would be happy to correspond with anyone who is considering this test about our experience with the testing procedures.
