Shana,
We are working on the same Reuben BUMP.Ours is the one who was bp. 1 Mar 1746/7 in Wareham, MA, the son of Josiah BUMPAS and Hannah BUMPAS.
This Reuben is known as Reuben BUMP, Sr. and he and his 1st wife (name unknown at this time) had three (and "possibly"four) children: (not necessarily in this order)
1. Sally BUMP, b. 1768, d. ca. 1853 - md. four times:
a) md. ------ MINOR and had a son, Jesse MINOR
b) md. ------ BELCHER and had a son, ----- BELCHER
c) md. Thaddeus NEWTON
d) md. ------ HOLCOMB
2. Lucy BUMP, b. 10 Jul 1771, d. 10 Sep 1823-1828 - md. (by 1793) Samuel Rogers NURSE and went to Scioto Co., OH.They had a number of children (my husband's ancestors)
3. Reuben BUMP, Jr., b. 29 Dec 1776(?), d. 29 Jul 1868 in Chenango Co., NY - hemd. Jerusha WHEAT.I have at least one son for him and "possibly" two others that I haven't proven as yet.
and "possibly"
4. Polly BUMP, b. 5 Apr 1786, d. ca. 1845 - md. Luke NICHOLS.
Reuben BUMP, Sr. md. 2) Abigail EVANS, widow of Henry EVANS, Sr. and went from Brattleboro, Windham Co., VT to Chenango Co., NY where he must have died, but I have not been able to find a death date or place for his death.
It is his 1st wife's name that I seek.
Which of the above children of Reuben BUMP, Sr. is your ancestor?
Dolores
