Charles William Burch is the son of Henry Burch and Cynthia Brookshire, and the grandson of William Henry Burch Jr. and his 2nd wife Elizabeth Ritter. After Williams 1 st wife Morning Mary Harris died William married Elizabeth Ritter. Part of the children from his 1st family and his 2 nd family moved from Surry Co., North Carolina to Monroe Co., Indiana. Most of the indian family is buried in the Burch Cemetary.

The burch/Birch family came from Birch Hall, Manchester, Lancashire, England they cam to this country in 1647 and settled in Williamsburg, Virginia.
