Re: Lewis A Burdett/Burdette WV family names

Dear Nancy, Was your Daniel Burdett from Nicholaas Co. W.Va. John & Elizabeth Burdett came from Monroe Co. W.Va. to Nicholas Co. and had the following children Daniel - Delilah - William - Elizabeth. Delilah is my great great grandmother she married George Washington Hicks and had the following children John - James David - Owen Lewis - Benjamin Armstrong - Joseph Stephen - Margaret Jane. Delilah (Burdett) Hicks died in childbirth of her last child Margaret 1859/1860 and her husband left the children with their grandfather John Burdett in Nicholas Co. On the 1860 census of Nicholas Co. John listed his daughter Delilah's children as Burdett's.
