It is obvious from the 1860 Morris Twp., Huntingdon Co. census that Sarah Burket Tippery's father was Samuel Burket, a widower, because he was living with them. His wife, I believe, was Ellen ? and their known children (listed in the same household in 1860) were Sarah M. and William I. Burket. It appears in this census that William was married to Angelina with two children named Samuel H. F. Burket and Malissa Burket. All of these individuals except Ellen were living in the same household at that time. Also listed in the household were Isabella Isenberg, 19, and John Bradley, 23 (blacksmith). Peter Tippery, age 46, was listed as a foundryman (but he had been a blacksmith in his earlier days and also a judge and a justice of the peace), while William and Samuel, Sr., were both carpenters.
I have found many Burkets in the Huntingdon County, PA, area, but I am not sure of their connection to Sarah's father, Samuel Burket b abt 1790.I would like to find any further information on the Burkets who married into my Tippery family, or perhaps if you could connect me to Sarah Burket Tippery's descendants.
