Burkill Civil BMD records for England & Wales

My maternal grandmother's maternal grandfather was JAMESBIRKILL , born about 1816 Barnsley, Yks. who aged about 13 was convicted to 14 years imprisonment in Hobart, Tasmania ,Australia for stealing wet linen in Yorkshire. I have no idea of how to track the York Court records for this. His convict record has his surname as BURKILL. After 14 years he was released and returned to England in 1846 and his Barnsley family. He then emigrated 21-5-1848 to Victoria ( at that time part of New South Wales ) on the ship "Cheapside" as an agricultural labourer, 32, with his sister Elizabeth ,21, arriving in Melbourne 18-8-1848.He was lucky on the goldfields and bought a large acreage of Albion suburban west Melbourne becoming a pioneer there under the spelling used by his other family members as BIRKILL. He married a Scot, Annie Gallagher ( 8-10-1836 to 7-2-1911 )on 21-12-1867 in Collingwood, adjacent to Melbourne, and died 1-6-1878 in Albion after having ten children. No photos survive of him.
His parents may have been a Catholic and Protestant marriage on 24 November 1803 in Doncaster, Yorkshire of EDWARDBIRKILL ( b.c.1776 in Knaresborough to presently unknown parents died 5-2-1848 Barnsley ) and ANNSENIOR ( b.c.1782 in either Barnsley or Doncaster [ Censuses disagree ] who died 12-10-1857 Barnsley. The parents of Ann Senior are unclear.
Their other children included Sarah England 1824-29/6/1898 Tenterfield, New South Wales as a pioneer there, grandmother of "the Tenterfield saddler" via a love child and consequently great-great grandmother of the late Peter Allen ( Woolnough )husband of Liza Minnelli ,musician.Sarah married Thomas England ( bpt. 10-5-1826 Darfield, Worsborough married 1-6-1846 in Ecclesfield d. 2-9-1859 Tenterfield , NSW)and had 8 children in marriage who left many descendants. Later Sarah married 29-2-1864 probably in Tenterfield , ntheast NSW, Henry Whitaker who d. bef Jan. 1902 Moorsholm Yorkshire.
Two letters of a sibling of James and Sarah have been published by me in the Barnsley Family History Society abt 1998ish when I was a member trying to sort out the spelling varieties of BIRKILLS/BURKILLS/BIRKHILLS/BURKELLS in the area. I waded into the IGI and BDMs and realised that Yorkshire had many references to a sounded surname with different spellings.
Other siblings included: Edward Birkillb. 1810 d. 15/11/1874 Barnsley who married abt November 1842 Sarah Ashton (b.1818 Dodworth d. after May 1881, probably Barnsley )and had in Barnsley most likely, possibly James, b. bef. March 1843, possibly Maria b. c. November 1843 d.c.March 1843, Ann b.c. Feb.1845 d. aft. 1857, George ( b.c.May 1847 to abt. Aug. 1938 possibly in Hemsworth )who married 1-11-1868 Barnsley, Emma Howarth ( b.c. 1849 died abt Nov 1918 ) and had descendants , some still in the Barnsley area.
Another sibling to James and Sarah Birkill was Frank b. 1813 d.abt. 1858 in the sanatorium.Another sibling was Ann Birkill b. 1820 Barnsley d. abt. Aug 1894Barnslley who married Thomas Thistleton (b.c.1822 Knottingley d. abt. Feb 1904 Barnsley and may have had other children besides Mary Ann Thistleton b.bef.October1857. Another sibling Elizabeth who came out with her brother James on his return to Australia was b. Sept. 1826 Barnsley and d. 29-8-1904. Elizabeth married twice, firstly to Robert Powell ( b.c. 1821 Bristol d. 8-4-1861 Tasman Sea near New Zealand )in 18-3-1850 Melbourne, having 7 children who left descendants. Elizabeth later married 12-3-1868 Tenterfield, NSW to Hamley Trottman (b.c. 1813 West Indies d. 23-7-1891 Tenterfield, NSW )having one daughter.
It is possible but very uncertain that 1841 census data inferred that other siblings may have existed like possibly Thomas Birkill b.c. 1807 Barnsley, possibly George b. 1807 Barnsley, and possibly Charles b.c. 1827 Barnsley about whom nothing is known. No connection in Knaresborough, where other Birkills/Burkills existed and deaths registered show the family in that part of Yorkshire into the start of the 19th century.
Is any person familiar with relatives of these BIRKILLs and the Senior family and Knaresborough ,Yorkshire BURKILLS/BURKELLS and Thistleton descendants??? Please email me
