Ronald,
I've been searching for information on one "H.A. Burnell" which could be your father, if he served in the Army. The person I'm looking for served in Company K, 302nd Infantry, 76th Division. The 302nd. was composed of draftees from New England and New York.I have an artifact with H.A. Burnell and military unit identification engraved on it, and I'd like to know if the item belonged to your father.
Also, what does the "48" mean following the name, as shown in your posting?
Thanks
John Morris
