Re: Newton Cannon Burrow

You know, anything is possible.Dora's birth date was 20 July 1880 (according to my grandmother and Dora’s COD).It's possible they were twins, one of the birth dates would be wrong…
What you say about Brookfield being enumerated as Brookfield Burr makes me wonder about the enumerator.Newton’s family name was enumerated as Burr as well.
I looked up John A & Sallie to see if Sallie’s maiden name was Burrow and it looks like it was Stotts. But it is possible that Sallie is the S Burrow born on 1862.If you work with censuses, which it sounds like you do, you know that birth years aren’t always correct, especially for females. It gives me something to work with.
The children statement on the 1900 census is wrong.I suspect that Newton was married two times.First wife died between 1862 and 1868.That is going by other censuses.Newton was the father of nine kids.Oldest was born in 1857; youngest one was born in 1880.
Have you tried looking for Brookfield’s obit?It might give information on any living siblings. If Dora was his sibling, it might have her listed on the obit because she died in 1957 and Thomas died in 1959.In Dora’s obit it lists her child, brother and grandchild as living survivors. On Thomas’s obit it doesn’t list his parents or siblings. So I would assume all of them have passed before he did.In Thomas’s obit it states that he is from Green County but moved to Camden in 1938ish.
