David A. Burson, 1839-1906
Just received David's pension file, and his widow's pension file. I can add the following information to David's bio:
David A(ckles) Burson was b. Feb. 28, 1839, Schoolcraft, Kalamazoo Co., Mich.; enlisted in Illinois Cavalry I-5 on Sept. 23, 1861; discharged at Vicksburgh, Mississippi on Nov. 7, 1864. He died Nov. 5, 1906, in Neeleyville, Butler Co., Mo. However, the pension lists his residence as Boydsville, Clay Co., Ark. [David had filed a land patent in Clay Co., Jan. 11, 1892).
He married Rhoda Ann True (b. 1853) at Majority Point/Toledo (both are listed in separate places), Cumberland Co., Ill., on Oct. 27, 1867. She died Jan. 17, 1926, in Marmaduke, Ark.
They had six living children:
Alonzo L[afayette?] Burson, b. Oct. 7, 1868
Marion F. Burson, Aug. 26, 1876
Ralph L. Burson, Feb. 6, 1878
Hayden Bertha Burson, March 8, 1885
Daniel E. Burson, Aug. 1st or 7, 1887
David S. Burson, b. Sept. 9, 1890
Alonzo seems to have died in Clay Co.; Missouri has no death certificate. He married Phoebe Parrish.
