I've run up on his information since posting this, though still a bit confused by the case I quoted in the message.John and his wife, Hannah, are buried at "Bushfield," Westmoreland County, and the following is inscribed on his tombstone. However, there are only four daughters and two sons mentioned, rather than four children of each gender. Two sons had apparently died by the time he passed away, in addition to the infant(Thomas) you mentioned, who died in 1701.I have few dates of death for his children, so don't know which they were.John died in 1760, so he wasn't one of the two who died before their father.
"Here lies the body of John Bushrod, Gent., son of Richard Bushrod, Gent., by Apphia his wife.He was born in Gloucester county, Virginia, the 30th of January, 1663.He took for his wife Hannah, the daughter of William Keene, of Northumberland, and Elizabeth his wife, and by her left two sons and FOUR daughters, and died the 6th of February 1719, in the 56th year of his age."
Still, the case is I mentioned is certainly puzzling since she did marry Cooper lastly, requesting in her will that she be buried between Dr Cooper and her first husband, John Bushrod, unless of course Dr Cooper was not the John Cooper she married after John Bushrod died. That seems doubtful since she'd requested to be buried next to him.Maybe she is not the Hannah Keene who married Willoughby Allerton?Do you know of another?
