A Mary Stewart married an "unknown Mr. Davidson," and he died in VA around 1801-1802.The children of the above couple (one of whom was shown on a later rescord as having been born in Wythe Co., VA) moved to Pulaski Co., KY, and one of the daughters of the above couple married a Mr. Buster.
I suspect (albeit no proof at this time) that the above Davidson family was part of the well-known John Goolman Davidson family that lived in the Wythe (and later Tazewell) Co., VA area.John Goolman Davidson is typically credited with establishing Bluefield, VA.
John Goolman Davidson was killed by Indians on 8 Mar 1793, and many of the inhabitants of Wythe Co., VA then sent a petition to the Governor of VA asking for better security against such attacks. Some men (three, as I recall) with the surname of "Bruster" signed that petition.I wonder if that should actually have been "Buster" versus "Bruster?"Comments? Thanks.
