This Elizabeth is probably NOT the Elizabeth bp. in Fressingfield, Suff. 29 Mar. 1728, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth.Andrew and Elizabeth moved to Alburgh, Norf. and thence to South Elmham St. Peter, where they died in the 1740's.Their daughter Elizabeth is likely the Elizabeth Butcher who married in S. Elmham St. Peter on 30 Sep. 1754 John Smith.

This Elizabeth MAY be a daughter of Hugh and Ann (Cream) Butcher.Hugh Butcher left a will in Hoxne dated 1 Feb. 1723, probated26 July 1726, naming, among others, a minor daughter Elizabeth. This Elizabeth's next elder siblings Mary, Anne, and Hugh were born in Fressingfield between 1710 and 1714.Fressingfield is a few miles east of Hoxne (separated by Wingfield parish).

Another possibility is Elizabeth, dau. of Robert and Elizabeth Butcher, bp. Metfield, 2 Apr. 1723.Metfield is adjacent to Fressingfield to the east. Her parents seem to have ended up in S. Elmham St. Cross.
