Hi Deena
Thanks for your e-mail re Edmund Bye and his family.
I have recently been up to Northampton Record Office to look at the records for Aynho and these are the Bye records I found:-

All these baptisms showed the father as a 'labourer of Aynho'.

1830 Jan 29th Susanna Bye age 23
1835 Dec 16th Elizabeth Bye age 63
1835 Dec25th Leah Bye age 2 months
1841 March 29th Job Bye age 69
1841 Aug 9th Mary Bye age 4
Marriages 1813 - 1836
George Bye (x) = Elizabeth Borton (signed)
30th October 1823.
witnesses:- Joseph Ford (x) Sarah Bye (x)
John Bye (signed) = Susanna Borton (x)
3rd September 1827.
witnesses:- William Dolton (x) Susanna Godwin (x).
Also George Bye (x) and Sarah Bye (x) witnessed the marriage of Joseph Youngman (widower of Burford, Oxfordshire) and Mary Holliday 2nd April 1828.
All this confirms the information in your e-mail. Edmund was the son of John & Susanna (nee Borton). Susanna died in 1830 aged 23 and, from records I already had, John (a widower of Aynho) married Rachel Reeves on 11th November 1833 in the village of Fritwell, Oxfordshire.
As you know John (born 1807) was the son of Job & Elizabeth (nee Dumbleton) who were married in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire on the 19th August 1799.
You will see from the Aynho records that Job died in 1841 aged 69 which should mean he was born about 1772.
Having checked my records the only Job Bye I have for around that time was baptised on 11th August 1776 in the parish of Burford with Fullbrook, Oxfordshire.
Although I have him as the son of Richard I think this is probably a transcription error. It is more likely that Job was the son of Robert & Sarah (nee Cotterell) who were married on 5th September 1771 on Burford, Oxfordshire.
The parish records for Burford with Fullbrook for the 1770's baptisms are as follows:-
Marybapt 12/7/1772 d of Robert (of Signet)
Robert bapt 1/5/1774 s of Robert (of Signet)
Job bapt 11/8/1776 s of Robert (of Signet)
I think I will leave it at that at the moment to let you digest. Hope at least some of this new or at least confirmation.
I would be interested to know of the descendants of Edmund including the line to yourself if at all possible.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions and I look forward to hearing from you.
Mick
