I am not related in any way to the Cadogan's of England or Wales, but thought the following might be of some interest.
---------------------------------------------------------
Today, on an episode of BBC-TV's "Antiques Roadshow" they were showing a large photographic diary of a young girl named Cadogan who was born in 1859 in London. The person who brought in the album was not related to the family. The pictures, of various members of the family, spanned the period from 1865 to 1873.
The expert appraiser did mention that this Cadogan family were one of the richest in England in the 19th century, and owned a lot of property in the Chelsea district of London in the mid to late 1800's.
The appraiser on the show wondered out loud how such a fine set of family photographs could have gotten out of the family's hands, and he suggested that present-day descendants of the family should be made aware of their existence.
Anyone reading this posting who believes they are related to this Cadogan family in London in the 1860's should try to go on-line and contact the BBC-TV "Antiques Roadshow" link for possible further information. I am not sure, but I believe the TV episode was likely filmed sometime in the years 2000 to 2004.
Hope this will be of interest or some help to one line of the Cadogan family.
