Question: The marriage bond I found for Peter Cahall, 25 Dec. 1795 was to Molley Robertson. Why do you have Catharine E. Robertson married to him on that date?I have found Catherine E. as his wife on a deed record in 1801 & 1828, so I thought Molley had died & he married again???
I have found records for an immigrant Edward Cahall, 1764, to VA, apparently went into Halifax & Henry Cos. VA.I have found the following deeds in Pittsylvania Co. for an Edward Cahall:
1785-Edw. to Clement Nance
1802-Edw. & Peter Cahall to Rowland Thornton
1806, Sep 15-Edw. to Rowland Thornton
1806, Sep 15-Edw. to Randolph McDonald
Could the immigrant Edward be Peter's father?Did Peter have a brother Edward?
Mary Robertson against Peter Cahall, court rec. 27-394, 15 June 1829.Difficult to make sense of, Latin terms & atrocious handwriting.
Henry Perkins who m. Bethenia Cahall 1802, listed as bro.in law of Peter Cahall in one record.Henry & Bethenia went to Tennessee.
Probable other siblings of Peter: Elizabeth (m. William Thornton 1796), Abbe (m. William Murphy 1786).
The children Lucinda, Minerva, Peter P., Albert, Martha, & Ruth W. are the children of Grief & Mary (Cahall) Stewart.I have Grief Stewart's estate settlement to prove it.
