Roanne,
I happened upon your posted reply to Alan Calderwood in 2003.I hope this will get to you.The Calderwood family of Samuel Calderwood and Eliza seems to be the same as that of my wife's great great grandmother Elizabeth Calderwood Reid. She married Robert Reid in 1859.The Marriage notes parents as Samuel and Eliza Calderwood. We know that her children were born in Killydonnelly, Rasharkin and that 3 of them came to the United States (chicago) in the early part of the 1900's.The ones that came to the United States were Andrew Reid, Alexander Reid, and Matthew Reid.Matthew returned to Ireland and we know little of him but Andrew and Alexander stayed.Alexander is the grandfather of my wife.It would appear from your records that Sarah and Elizabeth were sisters and married brothers (possibly) Alexander and Robert Reid.Alexanders son William John Reid also went to Chicago and lived in the same neighborhood as or Alexander Reid.
Do you have anymore information about these Calderwoods in Killydonnelly and the connections with our families.
Thanks.
Steve
