I'm Richard, Angelynn's brother. I may have some exciting news for you. The Callender that penned the 1830 Journal that my friend found was NOT William L. Callender as I had been told. I finally got to read the journal myself this evening and it was written by a gentleman by the name of Levi Callender. He was a Grocer in Manhatten according to the "Manhatten NYC Directory:1829-30" and he resided at 99 North Street with another gentleman, a W.S. Callender whose occupation is listed as Butcher. I'm guessing W.S. was his father or a brother as they both resided at 99 North St. I believe that if your Callender lineage is from NYC this gentleman is in all probablity an ancestor of yours. I am hoping that he is and that you might be able to share with me more about him. Any information you might have would be deeply appreciated.
