Dear Deanna, Thank you for your interesting e-mail. I have detailed records of my family history, listing every member of the family, going back almost 900 years, to my 24 times gt.grandfather, who received the lands of Callander in Perthshire, Scotland in 1138. I am the 28th representative of this family. Unfortunately, there is no known connection between your family and mine. However, it may not necessarily be so in your case, but many people with the name of Callendar, from Cheshire and Lancashire in England, are connected to the linen industry, where a particular process was called callendaring. People that did this job were called Callendars. Good luck with your family research, Regards, James.
