Joanne, I think your dates are jumbled. Do you want info on John Calvert b.c.1689, or his father John b. 1648. I will assume John Jr.(also have parents info.) John Calvert b.c.1689, Upper Providence Twsp., now Delaware Co.,Pa. Removed to Orange Co.,Va. in 1732(became Frederick Co.,Va. in 1743), with a group of Quakers who had secured land through Alexander Ross. John Calvert is listed as one of the "Father's OF The Colony". John Calvert's will dated Oct.2,1738, proved June 28,1739, recorded in Orange Co.,Va., bk.#1, pg.90. Wills his wife Jane(McMahan?) Calvert one third of all his lands, during her life. To his sons Robert and Isaiah, the remainder of his 850 acres, whereon John Stephens now lives; to daughter Margaret 300 acres of land called Hogg Run. To Rebecca and Ann Calvert, 200 acres each. To son Robert Calvert the remainder of 992 acres at the death of his mother. Witnesses Terrence Notley and Henry Jones. Executors wife Jane, Robert and Isaiah, brother William McMahan. Also mentioned in his will is niece Elizabeth Carey. *Note the widow Jane Calvert mar'd. John Stephens. The children of John Calvert were: Robertb.c.1715, d.1756 Isaiah?Isaac b.c.1718, d.1748 Margaretb.c.1721 Rebeccab.c.1723 Annb.c.1725 mar'd. Hugh Parrell Richard b.c.1727, d.1770, mar'd. Sarah?
John Calvert's land of 850 acres was located next to Abraham Hollingsworths on Red Bud Creek, now in Fred. Co.Va. (Abraham Hollingsworth house, "Abram's Delight" built 1754 is oldest house in Winchester, Va., and now houses the Winchester/Fred.Co. Hist. Soc.)
Hope some of this helps. I am 7th great grandson of Mary Calvert, John's sister. She d.1735 in Baltimore Co.,Md., and was the wife of John Chenoweth, who mar'd 2nd to Jane Wood in 1736, and they too came to Frederick Co. ...Greg Wulker, Cinti.,Ohio
