I'm also descended from that same Frederick Calvit, who was shot AND scalped by Indians near the Watauga Settlement on April 10, 1777.Thankfully, he survived for 13 more years through innovative surgery (the doctor drilled holes through his skull), or else you and I wouldn't be here.
