Robert Calvert, s/o William Calvert & Lucy Rogers, was b. 9 February 1802, Tennessee. Siblings: Jane, Mary, James, Nancy, William, and Pauline. Siblings m. into Keesee, Hill, and Quarles families.

The family moved to Tuscaloosa/Bibb County, Alabama area, where Robert m. Mary "Polly" Keesee, d/o Thomas Keesee, 28 August 1823. To Saline County, Arkansas c. 1836; to Robertson County, Texas about 1850; died there 20 September 1867. The town of Calvert, Texas was named in his honor.
